چکیده

Surface mechanomyographic (MMG) signals have been detected during various types of dynamic muscle actions, including dynamic constant external resistance (DCER) muscle actions, concentric and eccentric isokinetic muscle actions, as well as incremental and constant power output cycle ergometry. Although the MMG amplitude and center frequency [mean power frequency (MPF) or median frequency] responses may differ slightly for different muscles and types of muscle actions, a particularly interesting relationship is that between MMG amplitude and muscle power output. Mechanomyographic amplitude and frequency responses during dynamic muscle actions: a comprehensive review

The purpose of this review is to examine the literature that has investigated mechanomyographic (MMG) amplitude and frequency responses during dynamic muscle actions. To date, the majority of MMG research has focused on isometric muscle actions. Recent studies, however, have examined the MMG time and/or frequency domain responses during various types of dynamic activities, including dynamic con...

Time Course of Changes in Neuromuscular Responses at 30% versus 70% 1 Repetition Maximum during Dynamic Constant External Resistance Leg Extensions to Failure

The purpose of the current study was to examine the time course of changes in neuromuscular responses from the vastus medialis (VM) during low versus high intensity dynamic constant external resistance (DCER) leg extension muscle actions to failure. Thirteen men performed DCER leg extensions to failure at 30% and 70% 1-repetition maximum (1-RM) as well as 1-RM measurements pretest and posttest....

The Effects of Work-to-Rest Ratios on Torque, Electromyographic, and Mechanomyographic Responses to Fatiguing Workbouts

The purpose of the present study was to examine the effects of 2 different work-to-rest ratios, but the same mean load, cycle time, and total duration of the exercise bout, on maximal voluntary isometric contraction torque and neuromuscular responses to fatiguing, intermittent, submaximal, isometric, forearm flexion muscle actions. Ten men performed 2 fatiguing protocols with different work-to-...

Mechanomyographic responses to maximal eccentric isokinetic muscle actions.

The purpose of the present investigation was to examine the mechanomyographic (MMG) responses to maximal eccentric isokinetic muscle actions. Eight adult male volunteers [age 22 +/- 2 (SD) yr] performed maximal eccentric muscle actions of the leg extensors at 60, 90, 120, and 180 degrees /s on a Cybex 6000 isokinetic dynamometer. MMG was detected by a piezoelectric crystal contact sensor placed...
